force_ad_replication_sysvol

Force replication of sysvol :

Identify your replication system FRS/DFSR :

  • File Replication Service (FRS) : Windows Server 2000 / 2003 / 2008 / 2012
  • Distributed File Service Replication (DFSR) : began on Windows Server 2008

You have to check with the cmd the service “File Replication Service”

$Get-Service –Name ntfrs

If the service is activated, your system use FRS otherwise DFSR is use.


For FRS use the following cmd line on the server destination

$ntfrsutl forcerepl [DC DEST] /r “domain system volume (sysvol share)” /p [DC SOURCE]

For DFSR use the following cmd line on the server destination

$dfsrdiag.exe syncnow /rgname:“domain system volume” /partner:[DC SOURCE] /time:1 /verbose
